The fastest way to ruin a person is to make them get used to “instant feedback.”

Post a moment on social media, and if no one likes it in 5 minutes, they want to delete it; work out for three days and if they don’t see abs, they think it’s a scam; after a month of effort without getting rich, they believe they’re not cut out for this.

Most people's brains have already been domesticated by algorithms and instant gratification into “giant infants.” As soon as they don’t get the sugar they crave, they start crying and throwing tantrums.

But true top hunters, for that deadly shot, can lie in the snow for three days and nights, even controlling their breathing to the lowest frequency.

This world is extremely cruel: low-level happiness is easily accessible; top-level achievement requires passing through a long, silent “quiet period” without any applause.

So here’s the question: do you want that cheap candy in your mouth right now, or do you want that hunting ground that can only be claimed after enduring the night?
