Since I started driving rideshare, I’ve truly realized how bad the economy is right now. The price for a solo rideshare order is only 1 yuan per kilometer, sometimes even less, and even then it's hard to get an order. Most people only want to carpool, not even willing to pay for the highway tolls. A few nights ago at 10 PM, I was driving back from Shanghai, almost 300 kilometers, the highway toll was 100 yuan. There were two people, and the platform's carpool price was 160 yuan. I negotiated with them for 350 yuan, with door-to-door pickup and drop-off, a price that's almost the same as taking the high-speed train, but they still weren’t willing.
