"Framework" projects are popular, take a quick look at another AI Agent new Open Source framework Prime

Framework projects do indeed tend to cause market fear of missing out, and the valuation of infrastructure is higher than that of applications.

GM, welcome to the first week of the 25th year that has been dominated by AI Agents.

In the past week, a clear trend is that the market has shown a great fear of missing out sentiment towards “框架” projects:

First of all, ai16z has repeatedly broken new highs, with a market value of about $2 billion; then the enterprise-level framework swarms quickly rose to become another AI Agent framework token with a market value of over $300 million, following ai16z (Eliza), ZEREBRO (ZerePy), and arc (RIG).

And today, another AI Agent framework called Prime has emerged, and its market value is also rising rapidly. The token rose to around 20M within less than 2 hours of opening, but has since fallen significantly, currently hovering around 11M in market value.

Due to the easy formation of intense PVP situation at the opening of the token, it is reasonable for the price to fluctuate drastically.

However, after the previous frenzy, referring to the situation of several framework projects mentioned earlier, the market value generally exceeds 300 million US dollars; for funds that missed the opportunity to invest in the previous projects due to high valuation, perhaps the fear of missing out emotion will overflow into similar projects as well.

So, will this new framework project Prime also follow a similar path? What makes it different from several other frameworks?

Modular AI Agent Open Source Framework

First, we need to understand a question, what is the AI Agent framework after all?

In short, it is a set of toolkits provided by developers to help them easily create, deploy, and manage AI agents, enabling these AI to autonomously complete specific tasks such as trading, social interaction, or content creation.

So where does this “easier to create and deploy” specifically manifest on Prime?

From the official description of the project, the most intuitive thing is that a lot of repetitive underlying code work is eliminated, and Prime describes itself more as a ‘modular’ AI Agent framework.

For example, there are a large number of prefabricated libraries, including a rich collection of tools, APIs, and template sets, which means that developers can choose only the components they need when creating an agent, reducing development time and keeping the system streamlined.

At the same time, modularization allows for unique configurations, enabling developers to build agents tailored to specific industries. For example, a healthcare agent may prioritize patient data analysis, while a retail agent may focus on customer personalization.

And this modularity also means a reduction in costs. By using only the required modules, developers can save resources, PRIME hopes to be a more economical choice for startups and enterprises.

According to Prime’s official description, using their framework can increase development speed by 30%, and there is also a dashboard function that can automatically monitor the current performance of the created AI Agent and predict the future performance of the Agent.

More importantly, this framework is open source and can be directly installed to local Python library from the code repository on Github.

In terms of popularity, Prime is obviously not as good as ai16z’s Eliza, but the number of stars in Github is also steadily increasing (currently 66), showing more like a small and beautiful feeling.

The specific usage effect of the framework, as mentioned in the official promotion, remains to be tested by technically savvy users before a conclusion can be drawn. With the fluctuation of PRIME token price, more developers are expected to join in to collectively evaluate the framework’s performance. Subsequently, we can await more social media reviews and opinions from key figures.

However, just from the paper information, we can compare Prime with several popular frameworks first to help everyone quickly understand the overall picture:

Plagiarism FUD is on the rise, and the ecological application is in the initial stage

The PRIME token skyrocketed to 20M this morning, but quickly plummeted to around 11M in the afternoon.

One important reason is that the project has been caught in the FUD sound of plagiarism.

Some community netizens pointed out that Prime is not an original framework, but copied the code of another project called smolagents on the well-known open source machine learning platform huggingface; and smolagent is exactly for AI Agents, and Python code can be used to call toolkits and orchestrate other AI Agents in terms of capabilities.

However, Prime officials have also expressed their own justification for the doubts, claiming that they did indeed use the code of the above-mentioned project, but made adjustments based on the source code with the authorization and permission of Huggingface.

Considering the open source nature of Huggingface, Prime may not necessarily be considered as “plagiarism”, but rather as the absence of prior explanation that its code was actually optimized based on someone else’s.

After FUD, up to now, the fluctuation of PRIME tokens has tended to stabilize, and more projects based on this framework are emerging:

AURA

CA:

AuraAiXwQ61h11a9Rtktro9p3R6uBfEWo9qDGnJge3G1

Market Cap: 700K

The project claims to be a universal coordinator and assistant for developers. Its main purpose is to simplify and optimize the development, deployment, and management of AI agents built on PRIME.

The token was deployed today and once exceeded 3.5M, but it has since dropped significantly.

It is worth mentioning that AURA is mentioned and recognized by the Prime official, but the data shows that dev holds 20%.

SPROUT

CA:

SPRTnpcEJP9Ahr6NNi6a8mvFhgpE27yPWowjBpBfQfu

Market Cap: 160K

In the very early stages, and Prime officials have indicated that this is not their official AI Agent, a small market value also means greater risk.

The project claims to be an AI-driven proxy built on the PRIME framework, aiming to optimize transactions on Solana for improved speed, cost, and security.

Second half, multiple frameworks

Overall, PRIME currently lags behind several popular frameworks in terms of market value, influence, and recognition.

The future development of the project depends on whether key figures are willing to support it, as well as whether the framework itself can develop better applications.

However, from the emergence of Prime, it can be seen that framework-based projects are indeed prone to causing market FOMO, which is very similar to the logic of previous VC coins–the valuation of infrastructure is higher than that of applications.

This also means that the AI Agent track has actually entered the second half, from a dominant framework, applications in full bloom, to multi-framework competition, and more specialized applications.

After all, in the reality where frameworks are open source and AI capabilities are becoming stronger, it will be relatively easier to be an AI agent; only those frameworks and applications with characteristics can survive in the competition, while a large number of projects without features may be quickly forgotten like Meme.

For project parties, the entry threshold for AI Agents will become higher and higher.

For the leeks, it is inevitable to have a trend of selecting the best among the best.

It should be noted that the AI Agent frenzy also has a strong timeliness, and many early projects may return to zero after the hot trend. Please DYOR (Do Your Own Research) and make your own research and judgment. The above content is not investment advice.
