Roam launches the Discovery Ecosystem collaboration platform, with the first batch announcing 20 projects to jointly promote the large-scale landing of Web3 applications.

On December 25th, the DEP project Roam officially launched the Roam Discovery Ecosystem, an innovative platform aimed at helping Roam users obtain more co-construction benefits through network co-construction with ecological partners, and jointly promote the large-scale landing of Web3 applications.

Roam, the world’s largest DEP network gateway

Currently, Roam has more than 1.7 million registered users worldwide, with over 1 million self-built WiFi nodes and support for 3.5 million OpenRoamingTM nodes. This is an open wireless network that covers over 200 countries and regions globally and is still expanding. Through Roam Discovery, mature cooperative projects will be deeply integrated into the Roam decentralized wireless network ecosystem, conducting ecological cooperation around node value, user agreements, and other aspects through WiFi nodes as the entry point. On the other hand, Roam Discovery will also provide a complete set of underlying software tools based on the Roam ecosystem, global WiFi node support, a huge global user community, grants, and community resources for innovative startup projects, helping new projects to complete early construction and continuously promote the development of the entire ecosystem.

As a new and innovative ecological system, Roam Discovery can be divided into three layers of architecture, utilizing the world’s largest decentralized wireless network to support and drive innovation for ecological projects. It consists of four core components:

  • Bottom Layer-Roam Physical L1: Build a physical hardware L1 based on the Roam router.
  • Middle Layer - Proof of Presence (PoP) and WiFi Node Stack (Roam OS): Provide ecological project parties with cooperation samples and a complete set of mature development tools.
  • Application Layer: By combining user samples and distributed networks, promote innovation and user participation within the Roam ecosystem, and incentivize and support the development of new projects.

Through these four core components, Roam Discovery provides a complete set of bottom-up data services and technical support for cooperative projects at different stages, offering users a more diverse range of revenue channels.

In addition, Roam Discovery will also help innovative new projects complete early construction through community support. Users can support various ecosystem innovation projects by staking $ROAM tokens, helping project parties co-build in the Roam ecosystem while attracting more new users to join the Roam network. Roam Foundation will provide grant incentives to cooperative projects at a 1:1 ratio based on the amount of $ROAM tokens staked by users, helping them complete early construction.

The first batch of 20 ecological partners launched

This time, 20 ecological cooperation projects were launched in sync with Roam Discovery. These projects come from multiple fields such as Layer 1, PayFi, and AI, and each project plays a key role in driving innovation in its respective field, including:

  • Infrastructure: IoTeX, providing DePIN modular infrastructure for everyone.
  • PayFi Project: Huma Finance and PolyFlow, driving decentralized finance and AI-driven payment systems.
  • Decentralized data solution: Mind Network, providing secure and encrypted data generation.

Promoting the large-scale application of Web3

In September 2024, Roam proposed to build the Physical L1 of the DePIN ecosystem, connecting and sharing data between people, devices, assets, and AI. Three months later, the Discovery Ecosystem went live and successfully cooperated with 20 leading projects in various industries. These cooperative projects include both well-known projects in the industry and startups, continuously driving project development and promoting the large-scale implementation of Web3 through Roam’s open global wireless network.

Roam has been continuously delivering in connecting Web2 and Web3 and promoting the large-scale adoption of Web3: In the past year, Roam has achieved breakthroughs of over 1 million registered users and self-built WiFi nodes. According to the statistics from the Solana Syndica research report, there were 670,000 new users in November, which is 4.6 times the increase in October, and the number of WiFi nodes has been continuously increasing by 100,000 for three consecutive months since September.

In less than a year, Roam has developed into a top DePIN project with 1.7 million users and 1 million self-built nodes. Last week, Roam released its 2025 roadmap, covering 11 major updates in product, technology, and community, with Roam Discovery being one of them. With this steady and even ahead-of-schedule development pace, we can expect even more in the future.
