Google Pixel 8/Pro series officially released, equipped with Tensor G3 chip to run large models locally

According to IT House reports, on October 4, the new generation of Android flagship mobile phone Google Pixel 8/Pro series was officially released, equipped with Tensor G3 chip and Titan M2 security chip. Google said that Tensor G3 has always been related to AI, running more complex ML (machine learning) models and bringing AI enhancements to almost every part of Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. It reads web pages aloud to users in a “more natural” voice and can read them in different languages, with the virtual assistant speaking more naturally.

Google said that Pixel 8’s Tensor G3 can run twice the number of machine learning models on the device as Pixel 6 (the original Tensor chip). In addition, the Pixel 8 Pro is claimed to be the first phone to run Google’s AI model directly on the device, with 150 times the computing power of the largest ML model on the Pixel 7.
