Russian experts suggest amnesty for Crypto Assets Miners, over 60% of Miners have not yet achieved Compliance sign up.

According to a report by Cryptopolitan on November 28, Oleg Ogienko, a member of the expert committee of the Russian State Duma's cryptocurrency legislative regulatory working group, suggested that the government grant amnesty to cryptocurrency miners using illegally imported mining equipment.

Ogienko stated at the “Digital Almaz” forum held this week in Yakutsk that a legal amnesty should be established for the illegal import of Mining equipment, which will help more Miners “come out of the shadows.” Currently, about 60% of Russian Crypto Assets Miners are still not registered with the Federal Tax Service and are outside of regulation.

It is reported that Russia will legalize digital currency mining through legislation in 2024, with about 150 mining infrastructure operators and nearly 1,300 mining entities officially registered. Due to electricity shortages, more than 10 regions have temporarily or permanently banned mining activities this year, and the federal government also supports cracking down on illegal mining operations.
