The Layer-1 Monad blockchain platform has just confirmed on X that the long-awaited token airdrop will officially take place next week.

According to the announcement, the airdrop receiving portal will open on October 14th. However, the Monad team has not yet disclosed any detailed information about the allocation — including eligibility criteria, distribution quantity, or vesting schedule.

Monad is positioned as a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain, compatible with EVM. This airdrop is seen as an important starting point in the launch process of the platform's native token. However, the lack of specific information has left the community “holding their breath” waiting for the next announcement.

Notably, on the same day, the decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid listed the perpetual contract MON-USD, allowing traders to open long or short positions on Monad's native token before the public distribution.

Based on the MON-USD trading data on Hyperliquid, the current price of MON is around 0.12 USD, bringing the fully diluted market cap (FDV) of Monad to approximately 12 billion USD — with a total supply of 100 billion MON tokens expected to be distributed through the upcoming airdrop.
