Changpeng Zhao, the former chief executive officer of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has taken to the X social media network to mock ex-SEC boss Gary Gensler
Zhao posted a photo of Genser with a digital clown nose with the “Crypto is still here” caption.
This comes after the SEC agreed to drop the lawsuit against the popular cryptocurrency exchange that was initially brought by the Gensler administration back in 2023.
The dismissal of the Binance lawsuit is part of the SEC’s aggressive effort to dismantle regulation by enforcement, which was championed by Gensler.
Zhao previously accused Gensler of undermining the cryptocurrency industry by targeting large players instead of placing more focus on smaller malicious actors.
Like other industry leaders, CZ also accused the SEC of stifling innovation in the U.S
