Foresight News reports that Neo founder and core developer Erik Zhang has accused Neo founder Da Hongfei of failing to fulfill his promise to disclose relevant financial reports to the public. He calls on Da Hongfei to publicly release a complete and verifiable financial report, including a detailed list of all assets managed by the Neo Foundation (NF) and a breakdown of all expenditures. Additionally, Erik Zhang states that according to a clear agreement reached during their most recent phone call, Da Hongfei will focus on the operations and development of NeoX and SpoonOS starting from January 1, 2026, and will no longer participate in matters related to the Neo mainnet. In response, Da Hongfei issued a statement saying that Erik Zhang controls the vast majority of Neo funds and influences consensus node voting. He said, “Blockchain projects cannot be controlled by one person. For years, I have urged Erik (Neo founder and core developer) to transfer NEO/GAS tokens from his personal custody to NF’s multi-signature address—he still retains the role of key holder. However, he always finds excuses to delay this process. Recently, he told me that the transfer would be completed around the N3 migration. Until then, I have avoided publicly mentioning this to maintain public trust and to give the matter space to be resolved in an orderly manner. I remained silent because I hoped he would keep his promise. Now, my restraint has been misunderstood. I should have done this earlier.”
