Recent job listings on LinkedIn show vacancies for Senior Cyber Crypto Analysts in Virginia and Cryptocurrency Investigators in Washington, DC. However, the exact number of positions for each role was not specified.
Deloitte is among the “Big Four” accounting giants providing services such as auditing, consulting, tax advice, and financial advisory, to clients spanning multiple industries.
It also provides expertise and solutions around blockchain technology, digital assets, and cryptocurrencies, aiding companies in understanding and utilizing these innovative areas. Stablecoin issuer Circle is among crypto-native firms that have tapped Deloitte’s auditing services.
Deloitte and Chainalysis have also teamed up to boost digital asset tracking and investigations.
Crypto Investigator Role Requires Secret Clearance
The job posting for a crypto investigator at Deloitte requires candidates to possess “Secret clearance.” This clearance level grants individuals authorized access to specific classified information by the US government. It signifies their eligibility to handle sensitive data not accessible to the general public.
Responsibilities of the selected candidate, who will assist in cyber financial crime investigations, are particularly focused on crypto fraud and collaboration with law enforcement agencies. Required skills include proficiency in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and dark web research, along with knowledge of cryptocurrencies, digital assets, and Bank Secrecy Act data.
Moreover, candidates should have experience in crypto analysis to aid federal investigations, using tools like Chainalysis, Elliptic, CipherTrace, TRM Labs, and Elementus.
Deloitte’s Senior Crypto Analyst Role Requires Active Top Secret Clearance
The Senior Cyber Crypto Analyst role shares similarities with the crypto investigator position but requires somewhat different qualifications.
Candidates need an Active Top Secret security clearance, granting access to Top Secret classified information. They must also possess experience supporting law enforcement investigations and using crypto analysis tools.
Deloitte has previously advertised over 300 crypto-related positions in the US, including roles like Blockchain & Digital Assets Manager and Tax Manager.
