Vice President Vance of the United States accused Iran of implementing "economic terrorism" by closing the Strait of Hormuz and defended the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports, saying it is a proportional response. Vance stated that Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is equivalent to "economic terrorism against the entire world." "They have essentially threatened all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz." "As demonstrated by the U.S. president, we can play this game too," he added. "If the Iranians want to engage in 'economic terrorism,' we will also follow a simple principle: no Iranian ships will be allowed to leave." (CNN)
