ME News report: On April 11 (UTC+8), Iran’s Islamic Parliament Speaker Kalibaf will hold talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz that day to determine the timing and format of negotiations between Iran and the United States. In addition, Iran’s side will raise the issue of the United States’ failure to honor its commitments with the Pakistani prime minister during the talks. The prerequisites for launching the negotiations include unfreezing Iranian assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon. The U.S. has informed Pakistan that it agrees to these prerequisites and some other conditions for starting the negotiations. The Iranian delegation plans to assess the U.S. position and how it fulfills its commitments during the talks before deciding whether to negotiate with the U.S. side. In another report, Tasnim News Agency said that if Iran and the U.S. can hold negotiations, the current plan is for the talks to begin later on the 11th and may only last one day.
