ME News Report, April 5th (UTC+8), U.S. Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of the House Armed Services Committee stated in an NBC interview that Trump is “letting down the U.S. military” on Iran issues, and his words are disconnected from reality. Khanna pointed out that earlier, Trump posted a demand for Iran to “open the damn Strait of Hormuz,” or face escalation. While Trump “used foul language and threatened war crimes,” U.S. military personnel are under fire, despite Trump repeatedly claiming Iran’s military power has been destroyed. Khanna said, “We must end this war now. A ceasefire is needed immediately. Iran, Israel, and the U.S. must stop bombing and reach a solution through negotiations.” He also stated that he will refuse to support any additional funding that prolongs the conflict, including appropriations directly for Pentagon military operations.
