On April 10th, according to mediators and an informed source, the Israel-Lebanon negotiations scheduled to take place in Washington next week will be preparatory talks at the ambassadorial level, rather than higher-level discussions. The mediator stated that the officials attending the talks will include: Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Levy, Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Nader Hamadeh Muawad, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michelle Sison, and former Lebanese Ambassador to the U.S. Simon Karam. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Thursday that Israel will initiate direct negotiations with Lebanon, focusing on the disarmament of Hezbollah. The day before he made this statement, Trump had called for a reduction in strikes against Lebanon, fearing that these attacks could jeopardize the Iran ceasefire agreement.
