Litecoin (LTC) — Underestimated "Silver" with Delayed Halving Effect
Litecoin is currently trading in the range of approximately $51 to $54, up about 2.77% in the past 24 hours and roughly 0.59% over the past 7 days. The circulating supply is about 77,030,133 LTC, with a market capitalization of approximately $4.17 billion. Although the gains are modest, it is relatively resilient in the current market environment.
Litecoin completed its third halving in August 2025, reducing the block reward to 3.125 LTC. Historical data shows that prices tend to rise 6 to 12 months after halving, but this time, due to macroeconomic influences, the halving effect has been significantly delayed. The current price has fallen more than 87% from its all-time high of around $410, making it a deep correction among mainstream cryptocurrencies.
On-chain data indicates that LTC’s daily trading volume remains between 150,000 and 200k transactions, with extremely low transfer fees (about $0.001), maintaining a notable advantage in payment scenarios. Addresses holding LTC for over a year account for 65%, indicating strong long-term holder retention. The MVRV Z-Score is at a relatively low level, suggesting the valuation is in a relatively undervalued zone.
From a technical perspective, LTC is testing a key demand zone, with the price below the $50 to $51 range. The RSI hovers around 43, below the neutral 50 line, indicating mild bearish pressure persists. Bollinger Bands show LTC trading near the lower band of $51.59, with a %B of 0.21, approaching oversold conditions. A break above $52 would be an initial bullish signal, and further upward movement toward $56 could confirm a momentum shift.
Asset-wise, Litecoin is often called the "Silver to Bitcoin’s Gold," sharing a highly similar technical architecture but with faster transaction speeds and lower fees. In the current macroeconomic uncertainty, LTC combines the narrative of Bitcoin as "digital gold" with more practical payment attributes. If future U.S. regulations favor cryptocurrency payments, Litecoin could be one of the beneficiaries.

For investors willing to tolerate higher volatility and optimistic about the long-term value of the payments sector, current regions could consider phased small-position entries. Short-term support is at the $50 round level; a break below that warrants caution for a potential decline toward the $45 to $48 range.
