Silicon Valley AI Engineer's "Robot Trading" — I Used GPT-8 to Create an Auto-Posting Program to Earn Red Envelopes
Background
I'm an AI engineer in Silicon Valley. In March 2026, I discovered that posting on Gate Square could earn red envelopes. But manually posting every day was too tiring. I spent three days developing an automatic posting bot using the GPT-8 API.
Principle
The bot fetches headlines from CoinDesk, Bloomberg, and Reuters daily, combines them with Middle East developments and Trump’s remarks, and automatically generates about 300 words of market analysis, including the hashtag #GateSquareAprilPostingChallenge, and posts it on schedule. It also automatically replies to the top three comments, with AI-generated responses.
Results
After running for a week, I posted 28 articles, received over 400 likes and 60 comments. I triggered red envelopes totaling $3.20. My leaderboard score ranked 87th (due to interaction weight). But the biggest problem was: someone noticed my replies were from a bot and reported me. Gate officials issued a warning and deducted all my points.
Lesson
AI can generate content, but it can’t replicate “human touch.” My posts are detailed, but some comments said, “Feels like talking to Siri.” The essence of the April Challenge is community engagement, not just boosting numbers. So I turned off the bot and started writing myself. Although slower, I carefully reply to every comment. After three days, my engagement rate tripled.
April Challenge
If you want to use AI assistance, my advice is: let AI help you find information and outline your ideas, but for the final text and responses, use your own hands and heart. Otherwise, you’ll only earn a few bucks in red envelopes but lose the trust of the entire community.
