AI Data Center Leader LandBridge Approaches Early Buy Point As Earnings Surge 180%
Recent initial public offering and IPO Stock Of The Week LandBridge (LB) held up well Friday amid the stock market weakness, trading within striking distance of an early buy point. LandBridge stock is in Investor’s Business Daily’s IPO Leaders screen, making it one of the top new issues to watch.
The Houston-based company manages land and resources to support and promote oil and natural gas exploration and extraction in the Delaware Basin. But the company is transforming from a traditional Permian Basin energy player into an artificial intelligence infrastructure supporter through leases for AI data centers. The company offers access to water and power, critical for massive data processing power.

In the latest quarter, reported on Feb. 25, LandBridge earned 28 cents per share on revenue of $56.8 million, according to IBD MarketSurge data. Year over year, earnings jumped 180%, while sales climbed 56%.
“We entered 2026 with strong momentum, and continue to shift the paradigm of active land management,” said Chief Executive Jason Long in the press release. “With over 315,000 optimally-located and largely contiguous surface acres, LandBridge continues to support and encourage energy, power, digital infrastructure and broader industrial development.”
For 2026, Wall Street expects LandBridge earnings to surge 107%, with an increase of 41% in 2027.

LandBridge Stock Eyes Early Buy Trigger
In early February, shares of LandBridge bullishly regained their 50-day and 200-day moving averages. Now, LandBridge stock trades roughly 2% away from an early buy trigger at 76.08. That could be interpreted as a short handle on a cup base with a conventional buy point at 85.60, according to IBD MarketSurge chart analysis.
Positively, the stock’s relative strength line — considered to be an important technical indicator — reached its highest level since November. The RS line measures a stock’s price performance vs. the S&P 500.
In the IBD Stock Checkup, LandBridge stock boasts a best-possible 99 IBD Composite Rating. That illustrates the name’s robust all-around strength. Its RS Rating continues to improve, to 85 from 21 four weeks ago.
