# OpenAI and Google Introduce New AI Models GPT-5.3 Instant and Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite

OpenAI has integrated the GPT-5.3 Instant model into ChatGPT, adjusting the tone, relevance, and smoothness of the dialogue. This will make daily conversations with the chatbot more useful and natural, developers said.

In comparison, GPT-5.2 Instant sometimes gave “too cautious and instructive” responses on sensitive topics. The updated model significantly less often resorts to moralizing prefaces.

When working with internet data, responses from GPT-5.3 Instant have become more meaningful and structured. It better recognizes the subtext of queries and matches the found information with its own knowledge and logic.

Overall, the communication style of the new model has become more natural, and unnecessary phrases like “Stop. Take a deep breath” have disappeared. The tool “hallucinates” less and handles text generation better. However, responses on some languages may sound too literal, OpenAI warned.

GPT-5.3 Instant is now available to all ChatGPT users and developers via API. Support for GPT-5.2 Instant will continue until June 3, 2026.

GitHub Alternative

According to several media reports, OpenAI is developing a GitHub alternative. The project is in the early stages, but a strategic decision has been made.

It is expected that the service will be available through a paid subscription, though other details have not been disclosed.

The possible reason for creating this product was the regular outages of GitHub, which caused problems for OpenAI engineers.

If the company launches its own platform for code storage, it will become a direct competitor to its major shareholder Microsoft (owner of GitHub).

In late February, OpenAI attracted $110 billion in investments at a valuation of $730 billion. The funding round was one of the largest in startup history.

Updated Gemini

Meanwhile, Google released a preview version of Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite — “the most economical and fastest” model in the Gemini 3 family.

The cost of using the neural network is $0.25 per million input tokens and $1.5 per million output tokens.

The model is optimized for creating AI agents and scaling: it can handle large data translations, content moderation, and generate user interfaces.

According to independent researchers Artificial Analysis, the new model processes information 2.5 times faster than Gemini Flash 2.5.
