@fogo is a Layer 1 blockchain compatible with the SVM virtual machine, designed to optimize network performance and scalability. To achieve high performance, Fogo applies Solana's Firedancer solution—client software aimed at improving transaction processing and supporting sharding technology.
According to the project, the block time (block time) for #fogo is expected to be 20 milliseconds. This is a notable technical specification when compared to other high-performance blockchains, such as Sui—which currently has a block time of approximately 390 milliseconds.
Regarding the underlying technology, Fogo inherits and develops upon the strengths of Solana, including the TowerBFT consensus mechanism, Turbine protocol, and PoH technology. However, Fogo is not just an upgrade of Solana but also incorporates other technical improvements, including:
