【Crypto World】Prediction platform Polymarket encounters access restrictions in Ukraine. According to reports on January 12, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications of Ukraine (НКЕК) has decided to block the platform’s domain name and listed it as a prohibited internet resource in accordance with Resolution No. 695.
The regulatory authority’s reason is clear—Polymarket lacks the necessary operating license and is deemed to be engaged in unlicensed gambling activities. According to relevant regulations, electronic communication service providers must restrict users’ access to such illegal online resources.
Interestingly, the enforcement of this blockade is not thorough. Some Ukrainian users can no longer log in to the website, but others have reported that they can still access it normally—indicating inconsistent implementation of restrictions across different regions.
In terms of data, Polymarket remains popular in Ukraine. As of December 24, the platform has completed approximately 240 bets related to Ukraine, totaling over $270 million. Among these, 120 bets are active, with a total amount exceeding $140 million. This shows that many Ukrainian users are using this platform for prediction trading.
