Are smartphones and social media destroying us? Unlikely. We are simply mistaking the growing pains of transformation for an ultimate decline.

History shows us that every communication technology revolution has sparked panic—from writing to printing, from radio to television, and then to the internet. These apocalyptic predictions have never come true, and society has continuously rebalanced itself.

An interesting phenomenon is that more and more people feel relieved after briefly disconnecting from these devices. It's not the technology itself that is the problem, but rather that we are still learning how to coexist. Adaptation takes time.

It's that same historical cycle theory again lol, but on the other hand, it does make some sense? After all, each generation tends to blame their anxieties on new technology.

Historical cycle theory sounds good, but I still think this wave is different. Algorithm feeding us is the real sneaky move. Web3, come save us.

This logic indeed holds up, but I think the problem isn't that simple... We all have to admit that the current algorithm design is playing with psychology, not just a simple "adaptation problem."

I agree with the argument about history, but now people really don't look where they're going... We need to learn self-discipline.
