Caroline Ellison, who was co-CEO of Alameda Research, is just a few months away from regaining her freedom after years in federal custody.

According to information from ChainCatcher based on data from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons, the former executive will be released on January 21, 2026. This milestone marks significant progress in her legal situation, considering she was transferred last October from a prison facility in Connecticut to house arrest in her community of residence.

Ellison's trajectory at Alameda Research, the platform once considered one of the leading entities in the crypto ecosystem before its collapse, has been subject to regulatory and legal scrutiny over the years. Her gradual transition from traditional incarceration to house arrest reflects changes in her status within the federal penitentiary system.

With the release date approaching, Caroline Ellison could gradually reintegrate into civilian life in a matter of months, closing a prolonged chapter of her imprisonment.
