Distributed storage is expected to surpass 20 billion yuan in scale by 2025. Many projects are currently competing in this space, but why is Walrus able to secure the leading position?

To be honest, its technical foundation is indeed solid. Using the Sui blockchain for storage, with sub-second latency and millions of TPS—these metrics are quite competitive compared to Filecoin and Arweave. Especially in supporting private transactions, which other competitors haven't emphasized much, Walrus has addressed the demand for privacy storage, opening up a blank market.

From an application perspective, distributed file storage already accounts for 44.9% of the market share and is still growing. Large file distribution needs are high, and Walrus's combination of erasure coding and blob storage aligns well with market demand. Plus, with $140 million in funding backing, and considering the rising popularity of BTCfi in the Sui ecosystem (TVL exceeding $4.5 billion), this gives Walrus ample room for growth.

As the ecosystem value of WAL tokens expands, it will naturally benefit from increased market share. Moving from Sui's storage infrastructure to becoming a leading global distributed storage project is a feasible path.
