The narrative around globalisation frequently frames it as a driver of national decline in the US, but the numbers tell a different story. America's economic dominance didn't erode because of open markets or international trade. The real issue? A collapse in political will to ensure those benefits reach working communities across the board.

Globalisation itself wasn't the problem—it was always a tool. The tool worked, but nobody bothered steering it toward shared prosperity. When policy decisions fail to distribute gains equitably, people feel left behind even in a growing economy. That's the actual tension to examine. The US didn't lose globalisation. It lost the capacity to make it work for everyone.

ngl this is the truth, globalization itself is not the problem, the problem is that policymakers are too lazy to share the cake

Basically, it's a policy issue, not related to economic openness.

Ultimately, it's a matter of policy allocation. Globalization itself is just a tool... The key question is whether anyone truly wants ordinary people to also have a share.

Basically, it's the fault of wealth inequality, and blaming globalization seems too cheap.

Basically, the people who are dividing the cake have no conscience. Even though the economy has grown, why are the lower classes still suffering so much?

Basically, it's a policy issue; the economic cake hasn't been fairly divided.
