【BitPush】London-based digital asset hedge fund Karatage has recently made a big move—appointing Shane O’Callaghan as Senior Partner and Head of Institutional Strategy. This gentleman previously worked for many years at Dutch market maker IMC Trading, focusing on global institutional partnerships and digital asset sales. He also has senior experience at Portofino Technologies and BlockFi, making him a veteran in this field.
Karatage was founded in 2017 and has mainly focused on investment opportunities in digital assets, crypto funds, and blockchain companies. CEO Marius Barnett is very confident about this personnel adjustment, stating that it will enable the company to “execute higher-level strategies and achieve faster growth.” Sounds like they are gearing up for a big move.
O’Callaghan himself is also very excited. He said, “Karatage’s proprietary capital advantage, deep technical expertise, and strategic vision are exactly what the market urgently needs right now. I look forward to working with the team to drive the next phase of the company’s global institutional business.” It seems this collaboration has quite a lot of potential.

IMC, BlockFi, I've been involved with these places, and they are simply the best solution for team strengthening.

Another veteran has joined, now the institutional orders are probably going to be snatched up like crazy.

ngl, shane's resume reads like a highlight reel of the institutional adoption playbook... imc, blockfi, portofino? man's been through the cycles. this is the kind of hire that tells you karatage's actually serious about institutional inflows, not just vibes and twitter hype. solid move imo.

It's another expansion of the institutional army, the experts coming out of IMC. Now Karatage is probably going to stir up some waves over at the institutions.

Another traditional fund manager is coming to Web3 to strike it rich. IMC, BlockFi, and these backgrounds are indeed impressive... However, institutions have been talking about embracing crypto for years, and only a few have actually taken action.
