Let's talk about the ups and downs of Bitcoin inscriptions over the past few years—pain points are often where opportunities lie.

As is well known, the Bitcoin mainnet itself does not support token issuance. It is precisely because of this limitation that ecosystem developers have gradually launched various protocols on-chain to make up for it. In January 2023, Casey Rodarmor launched the Ordinals protocol, and the entire Bitcoin ecosystem instantly became popular. Projects like ORDI gained immense attention, and the thriving ecosystem left a deep impression.

Subsequent waves of protocols followed: BRC-20 in March 2023, Runes protocol in April 2024, and other significant solutions emerged one after another. But the reality was harsh—although these protocols were highly innovative, most of them ultimately faded away.

The reasons for failure are quite clear, with three main issues: first, the inflation pressure caused by the open minting mechanism; second, severe liquidity shortages; and third, the extremely high Gas fees and slow confirmation speeds on the Bitcoin mainnet. Coupled with the dispersal of traffic caused by too many protocols, the ecosystem's vitality gradually diminished.

But now, the situation has reversed. The new generation of solutions has addressed these pain points one by one: community consensus combined with LP rewards for minting mechanisms has completely rewritten the way open minting works; the Fractal Bitcoin-based layer-two DEX inswap provides real liquidity support for the entire ecosystem, with interaction speeds and compatibility that are top-notch; meanwhile, Fractal Bitcoin itself solves the mainnet fee dilemma—at the current price, 1 FB is enough to support about 1000 transfers, with Gas fees lower than all similar solutions on the market.

This time, it’s truly different.

History always repeats itself, just with a different name. BRC-20 also said "this time is different," but what now? Let's wait until it drops again.

It's another new narrative to rescue the market. Let's see how long it can last.

It's the same people hyping Fractal Bitcoin again; last year they said BRC-20 is the future.

On-chain data shows that FB's gas consumption model is indeed abnormal; it is worth monitoring contract changes late at night.

Damn, FB really came to the rescue this time. Gas fees were indeed a killer before.

Are pain points opportunities? Alright, is this another sign of the next round of cutting leeks?
