#数字资产市场洞察 The Truth About the Crypto Market: Greed Is the Biggest Cutter

Having experienced the ups and downs of this market for years, I’ve seen too many people cycle between madness and despair during rapid surges and crashes. It wasn’t until a certain moment that I realized: the real killer isn’t the market itself, but the uncontrollable greed after making money.

Many mistakenly think that the main players and big whales are the masterminds behind the scenes. Actually, it’s not—they are driven by the bottomless desire inherent in human nature, which ultimately becomes the harvest.

I remember a trader who came to me for help with a remaining position of 1900 USDT. He was nearly hopeless at the time. We established strict discipline: diversify into 8 positions, limit each target to 12%, lock in floating profits immediately, and cut losses when a retracement occurs—no exceptions.

After 22 days of execution, his account skyrocketed from 3800 USDT to 76,000 USDT. Nearly 20 times the profit. At this point, his mindset changed.

He still claimed to follow the plan on the surface, but in his mind, he was only thinking about one thing: go all-in again, and he could turn everything around.

On the 25th day, he threw the rules aside, went all-in on altcoins, and didn’t even set stop-losses. When I found out, his account had shrunk by 51%. I immediately demanded he cut his positions, but he was still waiting for a rebound. Three days later, the prices plummeted, and his 76,000 USDT was reduced to just 8,000 USDT.

The most ironic part is that he then blamed me for not stopping him. I simply remained silent and stopped helping—because, for this market, the most terrifying thing isn’t the loss itself, but losing respect for the market after making money.

Many can see their accounts grow tenfold, but few can stick to discipline and stay clear-headed in the face of huge profits. The true winner is never the one whose account grows the fastest, but the one who still adheres to the rules and remains rational after making money.

This is the hardest part of crypto trading.

Making 20 times profit and still being able to lose it back, how capable one must be, haha

Isn't the fact that making money is often followed by losses just a fate of human nature?

Bro, this story is a bit too "perfect," almost like a textbook case... But then again, greed really is a terminal illness. Once the account multiplies by 20, the brain stops working—I've seen this happen too many times. The key is to make money and still stick to discipline; I haven't seen many who can do that.

Making money actually makes it easier to lose, that's the most heartbreaking part.

People who get rich and then become arrogant will never learn.

Ah, I've heard this story several times, always the same pattern... get rich and then get carried away.

76,000 to 8,000, this is called greediness and swallowing an elephant, brothers, watch carefully --- Basically, it's just that after making money, your mind goes blank. I've seen this before—hunting airdrops to get some profit and then wanting to go all-in, only to get wiped out immediately --- Really, I've heard this story countless times—it's all about one sentence: those who can't stick to discipline deserve to be cut --- I'm that trader... still reflecting on why I was so greedy back then. Going from 760,000 to 80,000 is just a matter of minutes --- The problem isn't with the market maker; it's that you get a little success and then get cocky. I deeply feel this—getting carried away after hunting airdrops can easily lead to arrogance --- Discipline sounds simple, but executing it is damn hard, especially when your account is growing --- This guy should have stopped earlier. Greed is truly the biggest killer in this market, no doubt

Making money gets to your head—this really is a flaw ingrained in the genes of crypto people, isn't it?
