Reminder to everyone: Never develop the habit of copying addresses directly from transaction records for transfers, the risk is beyond imagination.

Not long ago, a major account suffered a huge loss. Here's what happened—

After withdrawing 50 million USDT from a top-tier exchange, they took a cautious step: testing the transfer with 50 USDT. The 50 USDT arrived without issue.

But at this moment, the phishing scammers acted incredibly fast. They generated a wallet address that matched the first three and last three characters of the target address, then transferred 0.005 USDT into this account.

The critical moment came. When making the official transfer, the account should have just copied from the recent transaction record, but they didn't verify carefully—resulting in 50 million USDT being sent straight to the phishing address.

The scammers responded extremely quickly. Once they received the funds, they immediately swapped them for DAI (to avoid freezing risks), then converted all the DAI into 16,624 ETH. Finally, these ETH disappeared completely on the chain through a privacy protocol.

Thinking back now, it was just an ordinary intermediate transaction, but it almost cost a life. Checking addresses, using a magnifying glass to verify each segment before, middle, and after—these actions now seem like essential preventative measures.

Oh no, that's why BearBear always uses a magnifying glass for every transfer... 50 million just disappeared like that, my goodness. The data shows that the success rate of phishing attacks is surprisingly high, which is truly terrifying when you think about it.

Damn, this technique is amazing... The first three and last three are the same, I almost didn't react in time, luckily I didn't transfer a large amount.
