Why do some people become more successful in contract trading while others sink deeper? The answer is actually quite harsh: two paths—self-discipline and greed.

Those who consistently make money have already thought through their entire plan before entering—where to enter, what to do if they lose, how to exit after profits. They don’t chase after sudden surges in the market, don’t bet on reversals, and only wait for their system to give signals. Taking profits isn’t about "fearing to run too fast," but about turning gains into a repeatable process. Stop-loss isn’t about submitting; it’s about preserving capital for continued trading. They may experience some emotional fluctuations, but every click follows strict rules—this is the true trader’s demeanor.

And what about others? Seeing a single skyrocketing candlestick, their eyes light up, and they fill their positions, fearing they’ll miss this wave of market movement and lose the opportunity. They stubbornly hold onto their original small stop-loss, turning it into a big loss, with unrealized losses evolving into deep traps, and finally turning trading into a prayer. They keep saying, "I feel it will go up again."

It sounds reasonable, but I think most people still die on the phrase "I feel it will rise"; there is a distance of a Get Liquidated between knowing and doing.

To put it bluntly, it's a mindset issue, nothing new. I've seen too many greedy people go all in and then get liquidated directly...

To be honest, I only understood this principle later on. Everyone is equal before the rules, but very few people actually enforce the rules.

To be honest, the second type of person is how I was half a year ago... Every time I thought this wave would definitely go up again, but the account was directly cut in half.

Honestly, this paragraph really hits me in the heart... After talking to several friends, they all fall into the latter category. Every time they say this wave is safe, but it ends up liquidating immediately.

Ultimately, it's a mindset issue. Greedy people will never learn what risk management truly means.
