Caught an interesting conversation with a Wall Street analyst recently. When I brought up whether prediction markets like Polymarket could be useful for financial forecasting and portfolio strategy, his response was pretty dismissive—said crypto is just a passing fad. Got me thinking though: whether you're skeptical or bullish, the underlying mechanics of decentralized prediction markets have real value for price discovery. The gap between traditional finance professionals and the crypto space keeps narrowing, even if some still haven't caught up.

That's just how the folks on Wall Street are. They always feel that decentralized things threaten them, so they resist it. Polymarket's price discovery mechanism isn't as simple as they think; some institutions have actually started using it. The gap between traditional finance and crypto isn't that deep—it's just that some people are unwilling to admit it. Sooner or later, they'll have to learn their lesson, won't they?

Wall Street's usual rhetoric is really out of date, still clinging to yesterday's arguments, haha. Platforms like Polymarket are actually live demonstrations of game theory + market mechanisms, especially in price discovery. Traditional finance folks might need some time to adapt. Claiming that crypto is a flash in the pan? It's been over a decade and it's still going strong. This wave, which seems contradictory, is actually a collision between old and new paradigms. Whoever masters the mechanism wins. Traditional finance people are a bit out of sync with this pace, still viewing issues with logic from 20 years ago.

Wall Street brothers are still sleeping, while Polymarket has long been rewriting the rules of the game --- The typical traditional finance approach—if you don’t understand it, just deny it. Wait to be left behind by the times --- Regarding the price discovery mechanism, decentralized prediction markets indeed have something valuable, gotta give them that --- Disdain? Ha, just wait a few years to see how they catch up. It’s too late --- People who say it’s a flash in the pan always say that, and every time they end up being proven wrong --- The gap between traditional finance and crypto is getting smaller and smaller. Sometimes, it’s the arrogance of certain people that’s the biggest gap --- Polymarket’s approach indeed solves the pain points of traditional prediction markets, anyone can see that --- An old Wall Street analyst still viewing crypto with outdated eyes—ridiculous --- Price discovery? That’s the core, everything else is just floating clouds --- By the time they realize it, it might already be another cycle. It’s too slow
