#BTC资金流动性 【Gold Market Turns, Bank of Japan Action Becomes Key Variable】

Yesterday, gold prices showed divergence, essentially triggered by the chain reaction from the Bank of Japan's rate hike. Think about it, the yen has long been a source of funds for global arbitrage trading—borrowing yen to invest in gold, US stocks, and other high-yield assets, earning the spread. Now that interest rates have risen, borrowing costs have increased, and traders who previously relied on carry trades are cutting losses and exiting. Coupled with profit-taking at high levels, this double selling pressure directly pushed down gold prices.

Intraday, the market remains volatile within a wide range, with many profits already taken around the 4310 level for long positions; crude oil remains relatively stable, awaiting further confirmation in the European and US sessions.

From a technical perspective—on the daily chart, gold prices are repeatedly oscillating and repairing above the short-term moving averages, with the price center gradually climbing upward, indicating a generally bullish pattern; the 4-hour moving averages are nearly aligned flat, clearly signaling a consolidation phase; the most interesting is the hourly chart, which after continuous oscillation, shows an improving pattern, with short-term moving averages beginning to spread upward, indicating that short-term upward momentum is brewing. Next, attention should be paid to the pace of correction and repair, to avoid being fooled by false breakouts.

Reference plan: Try long positions in the 4310-4318 range, with a stop loss at 4305, targeting around 4340-4350.

The Bank of Japan's recent rate hike has really caused a bloodbath among carry traders, with everyone borrowing yen having to cut their positions, and gold prices have been hammered quite hard.

Japan's rate hike really disrupted the carry trade; it seems I need to reconsider my stance.
