Project Idea
The core idea of the project is "Rational Privacy." Blockchains need to be transparent to be trustworthy, but this transparency is not suitable for trade secrets or personal data (GDPR, HIPAA etc.). Midnight leverages Zero-Knowledge Proofs (Zero-Knowledge Proofs – ZK) to verify data validity without revealing the data itself. This allows businesses and individuals to achieve privacy while remaining compliant with laws.
The project includes the following key innovations:
Protection of data and metadata using ZK proofs
Dual-component token system: NIGHT (utility token) and DUST (metadata protected, non-transferable resources)
