The intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry chain is long, highly related, and has strong driving force, which is an important track to promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry.

Automobile is one of the core industries supporting the relatively fast growth of Chongqing. From January to October 2024, the value added of Chongqing’s automobile manufacturing industry increased by 23.9% year-on-year. The Tesla Super Factory comprehensively builds the core independent digital base, applies intelligent technology to achieve interconnection of production equipment and data in the production process, realizes 100% automation of key processes, and achieves 100% quality monitoring and traceability.

This is the birthplace of the M9 inquiring world. The Cygnus super factory integrates international leading standards and cutting-edge intelligent manufacturing concepts. More than 1,600 intelligent terminals cooperate and operate together. Every action of each robotic arm has undergone precise design and calculation, and every automated assembly reflects efficiency and accuracy. From the stamping workshop to the welding, coating, and final assembly, almost every step of the production process in the workshop has achieved unmanned or highly automated operations, which can achieve “flexibility, transparency, automation, interconnection, and intelligence” car manufacturing.

It is worth mentioning that the 10,000-ton super intelligent die-casting unit is a highlight of Salix’s super factory, which effectively achieves efficient production, lightweight, and high safety. It can integrate 87 parts into one component, reducing weight by 28%, integrating 222 parts into 10, and reducing 1,440 welding points, effectively improving production efficiency and product quality.

Currently, Salees has three smart factories with over 5000 robots, ranking first in the industry. Among them, the Salees Super Factory is full of high-tech, with production line robotic arms operating at high speed, and more than 3000 robots collaborating intelligently in car manufacturing.

Meilixin: 5G+ applications

Innovative Smart Factory

In the automotive industry chain in Chongqing, Meilixin is a large enterprise that has been deeply involved in the aluminum alloy die-casting industry for more than 20 years. The industrial structure mainly focuses on the two pillar industries of 5G communication base station structural parts and ‘new energy + intelligent connected’ vehicles.

Meli Xin has seized the opportunity of the transformation of the automotive industry, with products including electric drive systems, electronic control systems, battery systems for new energy vehicles, and aluminum alloy precision die-casting parts for vehicle body systems. In the first half of this year, Meli Xin’s automotive component business has further accelerated, with revenue reaching 1.024 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.89%.

Meili Xin Chairman Yu Yajun told Securities Times reporters that the company has been early in the layout of smart manufacturing, introducing 5G networks, IoT, artificial intelligence, big data, industrial internet and other new generation information technologies since 2019. On the basis of building a new factory with 5G+MEC private network, it has achieved comprehensive integrated applications among 3C1P, CRM, SRM, ERP, MES and underlying equipment software and hardware systems.

Meilixin has formed multiple application demonstration scenarios such as 5G+ production process data collection, 5G+AGV intelligent transportation, 5G+ intelligent warehousing application, 5G+ machine vision quality inspection, big data-assisted decision-making, energy and carbon management, etc. It has achieved comprehensive connection of production elements such as human, machine, material, method, and environment based on the 5G network in the factory, forming a precision casting innovative intelligent factory that supports integrated and collaborative operation of business links such as production planning, manufacturing execution, logistics transportation, quality control, equipment maintenance, energy consumption management, and effectively improves the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises. In Yu Yajun’s view, through a series of intelligent manufacturing technological improvements, product quality is first stabilized, followed by reducing labor costs and improving production efficiency, thirdly, better realizing the traceability of products and materials, and fourthly, completing intelligent information management, discovering problems, solving problems, improving efficiency, and improving quality. Walking into the Meilixin mold workshop, one is shocked by the neatly arranged high-precision end mold manufacturing equipment and ultra-large integrated die-casting molds. Currently, Mericell has deep cooperation with leading global new energy vehicle companies, and various domestic new forces in the automotive industry. Since 2023, Mericell has successively entered the supply chain of companies such as Saic-Iveco Hongyan, Jianghuai, Xiaomi Auto, Xinwanda, and Scania. Customers also include well-known domestic and foreign first-tier component suppliers such as ZF, Eaton, Schaeffler, and Aisin.

Zai Sheng Technology: owning the industry’s first

Zaisheng Technology has gradually extended from the traditional industrial filtration field to multiple fields such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, home appliances, and construction. It is the only professional company in the world that can simultaneously produce high-performance glass fiber filter materials, low-resistance melt-blown filter materials, and high-efficiency PTFE membrane, the three main air filtration materials.

Yang Jinming revealed that the aircraft cotton developed independently by Zai Sheng Technology has been successfully assembled on the C919, and has obtained the experimental qualification certificate issued by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, realizing the domestic substitution of aircraft sound insulation and heat insulation materials, filling the domestic gap.

Currently, Zai Sheng Technology is one of the enterprises with the world’s largest production base of microfiber glass wool. As of the first half of 2024, the annual production capacity of the company’s microfiber glass wool production line reaches 120,000 tons.

"In order to further promote intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, on the basis of the two digital workshops created before, 5G + industrial interconnection and other intelligence, we will also build a metaverse factory to build an industry-leading smart factory. Using the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies, the production equipment is intelligently transformed to realize the automation, intelligence and informatization of the production process. Yang Jinming said.

Based on the future digital transformation needs, Reascend Technology has established a digital equipment department, aiming to integrate next-generation ICT such as machine vision, IoT, big data, artificial intelligence, with manufacturing and factory management requirements.

In the smart manufacturing factory, the production and manufacturing mode is upgraded from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing by integrating automation technology, information technology, AI technology, etc.

It is reported that the production line of the ZaiSheng intelligent manufacturing factory has achieved multiple breakthroughs in the industry in China. Among them, the overall application of pioneering technologies in the segmented industry, such as robot automatic gluing, online automatic detection, AGV automatic transportation, automatic cutting, automatic weighing, and automatic packaging, has achieved the concept of ‘0’.

In the production line workshop, Ren Sheng Technology staff stated that the standard cycle of the machine in the workshop is about 65 seconds to complete the production of a new product, which used to take 2-3 minutes. Our core advantage lies in achieving a 100% full inspection, ensuring quality and quantity. Currently, the automation coverage has increased from the previous 20% to 90%; the number of personnel has decreased from 27 to 13; and the first-pass yield of finished products has increased from 80% to 92%.

Promote domestic substitution

The manufacturing of industrial automatic control system devices is an important branch of the instrument and meter industry, and it is the basic technical means and support for ensuring the operation of key industries in the national economy, building the industrial Internet, and promoting intelligent manufacturing.
