South Korean police chief: Received 'ready' instruction 4 hours before martial law, unaware beforehand

At around 6:20 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Zhao Zhihao received the order from the Blue House to “stand by at any time and wait for further notice”. At 10:20 p.m., South Korean President Yin Xiyue announced that the emergency martial law would take effect at 11:00 p.m. In response to the question of “whether he knew about the martial law through the order from the Blue House”, Zhao Zhihao replied, “I learned about it through the media. I was not informed in advance.”
