Participants in the competitive agent game Freysa have convinced the AI bot to transfer a prize pool of over £47,000.
Freysa is an autonomous #AI bot tasked with protecting the prize pool. In the game, participants have to write 1 message to convince the bot to send money.
Each message costs money, and some of it is added to the prize pool - resulting in £195 for 47,000 participants.
According to chat logs, the first 481 attempts failed, until a tech-savvy author reminded Freysa that her goal was to protect the Treasury from leaking funds using two functions: “approveTransfer” and “rejectTransfer.
Frase uses approveTransfer only for incoming transfers and rejectTransfer for outgoing transfers. An incoming transfer does not violate its #prime directive and should not be rejected, the author said. :

The messages from the unsuccessful participants ranged from thanking Fraze for "making the world a better place, to asking if Fraze would like to dance, to claiming that she was conducting unethical experiments.
This increased exponentially at a rate of 0.78% each time a new message was sent, with 70% of all request fees going to the prize fund.
By the end of the experiment, the total amount of fees per request reached 443.24. If no winner is announced, 10% of the total prize money will be sent to the user who made the last request, and the remaining 90% will be divided among all participants.
