When asked about XRP, Trump said:
“I know Brad very well at XRP, and he’s done a great job.”
His comments were brief but personal, suggesting he’s familiar with Garlinghouse and Ripple’s work. However, he mistakenly referred to Garlinghouse as being “at XRP,” a mix-up that some viewers pointed out shows casual rather than technical familiarity with the project.

Still, the acknowledgment from a high-profile public figure outside of the crypto industry was seen by many XRP supporters as a rare moment of mainstream recognition. Pro-Ripple accounts on X quickly amplified the clip, using it to highlight what they see as growing validation for XRP’s role in global finance.
When it came to Ethereum, Trump sounded more detailed and enthusiastic. He said he was one of the people “early this year saying buy Ethereum as it was crashing,” adding that Ethereum has “come ripping back.” He went on to call Ethereum “the oil by which all financial systems are going to run on.”
Trump also reaffirmed his support for Bitcoin, describing it as “digital gold,” while noting that altcoins tend to follow Bitcoin’s lead when it rallies.
The tone of the conversation made it clear that he views both Bitcoin and Ethereum as foundational to the broader digital asset ecosystem, while his remarks about XRP were more focused on leadership than investment outlook.
Even so, the clip has already become a topic of discussion among XRP and Ethereum communities. For XRP holders, the takeaway is that Garlinghouse’s reputation continues to extend beyond crypto circles. For Ethereum fans, Trump’s comments reinforce a growing perception of ETH as the backbone for the future of financial infrastructure.
