Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, delivered his first statement on March 12 via national television, focusing mainly on unity within Iran, external conflicts, regional relations, and mourning the late leader Ali Khamenei. When referring to the current situation, Mojtaba Khamenei expressed thanks to Iran’s armed forces and the armed forces of the “Resistance Front,” saying that Iranian servicemen have prevented enemies from attempting to control or split Iran. He also said that Iran will continue to adopt strategic measures, including blocking the Strait of Hormuz, and will open new battlefronts if necessary. Iran issued a tough statement: the Strait of Hormuz is unlikely to be reopened in the short term, and oil prices will continue to rise. (Chuangchuang Futures)
