🚨🇺🇸 MISSOURI MOVES TO CREATE A $BTC STRATEGIC RESERVE
Missouri lawmakers have advanced House Bill 2080 (HB 2080) during the 103rd General Assembly. Introduced by Ben Keathley (R-101), the bill was referred to the House Commerce Committee.
HB 2080 would create a “Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Fund” inside the state treasury, with the State Treasurer serving as custodian.
• The fund would grow primarily through gifts, grants, and donations — not taxpayer-funded purchases.
• All Bitcoin must be held in cold storage for at least five years before any sale or transfer.
• State and local agencies could accept crypto for taxes and fees, pending Department of Revenue approval.
• The Treasurer must implement strict custody policies, audits, and biennial reporting.
