Bei den aktuellen Preisen entspricht dies etwa 2,1 Milliarden Koreanischen Won. Diese Bitcoins wurden 2021 freiwillig als Vermögenswerte im Rahmen einer polizeilichen Untersuchung eingereicht. Die Ermittlungen ergaben, dass die Cold Wallet physisch nicht gestohlen wurde, jedoch interne Vermögenswerte transferiert wurden. Die Strafverfolgungsbehörden untersuchen derzeit die internen Abläufe und mögliche interne Beteiligung. Es wird berichtet, dass dieser Vorfall im Zuge einer landesweiten Überprüfung entdeckt wurde, nachdem der Diebstahl von 320 Bitcoin beim Gwangju Bezirksstaatsanwalt bekannt wurde. (Donga)
