The incident has raised serious questions about the platform’s ability to moderate harmful content effectively and prevent such situations.

Suicide Threat During Crypto Livestream Shocks Community

Beau Security, a known safety advocate, revealed the shocking livestream on X. The user reportedly made the threat during a Pump.fun livestream, setting a token market cap as the condition for their safety. Beau posted updates, mentioning a screen recording that showed the individual seemingly proceeding with their threat.

Livestream Moderation Fails on Pump.fun

Reports indicate this is not the first time Pump.fun livestreams have been linked to disturbing content. In one case, a token creator threatened their pet dog’s life, demanding an $11 million market cap to spare the animal. The livestream included a visual “progress bar,” seemingly gamifying the situation.

In another incident, a young participant reportedly threatened violence against their family, demanding a token cap of $60,000. These acts have sparked outrage and concern about how Pump.fun’s features are being exploited for token manipulation.

Unlike larger platforms with strict safeguards, Pump.fun’s crypto livestream moderation appears unprepared for the rise in harmful content.

Crypto Community Demands Accountability

Consequently, outrage over Pump.fun’s livestream incidents has grown across the crypto world. ZachXBT, an on-chain investigator, criticized token creators’ actions, pointing out their careless approach to concealing identities. He noted:

Meanwhile, the Pump.fun community responded to the growing backlash by acknowledging the concerns raised. In addition, they announced plans to pause the livestream feature indefinitely while they enhance their moderation infrastructure to address these issues effectively.
