Wisdom Tree, a global ETF provider managing over $100 billion in assets, has registered for an XRP ETF in Delaware. This enables expansion of ETF with XRP, following filings by Bitwise, 21Shares, and Canary Funds. Moreover, Grayscale has launched an XRP Trust and proposed converting its multi-asset fund to an ETF. The SEC’s stance on this influx of XRP ETF filings remains under scrutiny.

Ripple and Archax Launch First XRPL Money Market Fund

In partnership with Archax, a digital asset exchange governed by UK law, Ripple has introduced a tokenized money market fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The fund, which is a component of the £3.8 billion Liquidity Fund (Lux), was created by UK asset management ABRDN. Notably, Ripple is committing $5 million to abrdn’s Lux fund tokens, emphasizing the growing focus on real-world assets (RWAs).

According to Duncan Moir of abrdn, tokenization on XRPL enhances investment processes and cash settlements. This pioneering initiative underscores XRPL’s infrastructure advantages, including efficiency and cost savings in capital markets.

The Next Big Thing in Finance: Tokenized Assets

Tokenized money market funds have outperformed $1 billion in assets under management and could reach $16 trillion by 2030, McKinsey reports. Markus Infanger, RippleX Senior Vice President, noted the role of XRPL in bridging digital assets with real-world assets. This development signals a critical shift in financial markets towards decentralized finance solutions.

Archax CEO Graham Rodford highlighted the benefits of tokenization for financial institutions. He emphasized the efficient transfer and trading enabled by digital securities, aligning with rising institutional demand for tokenized RWAs.

Ripple and Archax’s collaboration highlights XRPL’s native tokenization and trading capabilities. Ripple’s digital custody solutions, adopted by Archax in 2022, provide robust support for institutional-grade decentralized finance and RWA tokenization.
