OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger stated that the next version will adopt the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to replace Anthropic's Messaging Channel Protocol, thereby enhancing message access capabilities and supporting several applications such as Microsoft Teams, Matrix, and WhatsApp.
