Gate News message: On April 8, the Cyberspace Administration of China held a national meeting on cyber rule of law work in Beijing. The meeting emphasized that 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the opening year of the “15th Five-Year Plan,” and that to do well with cyber rule of law work in the current and the following period, attention must be paid to six aspects: First, overall coordination—strengthen organizational leadership, planning guidance, and mechanism development, and improve the overall effectiveness of cyber rule of law work; Second, accelerate progress and improve efficiency—advance key online legislation, strengthen the development of party regulations, expand the construction of cyber rule of law in external affairs, and continuously improve the system of online legal norms; Third, law enforcement implementation—strengthen cyber enforcement in key areas, consolidate the foundation for cyber enforcement work, and do a good job in supervision and guidance of cyber enforcement; Fourth, fairness and justice—promote the improvement of judicial governance rules, deepen judicial protection of online rights and interests, and strengthen judicial punishment of online crimes; Fifth, legal publicity—expand the content and connotations of online law popularization, deepen the branding of online law popularization, and build a “big online law popularization” work framework; Sixth, administration according to law—enhance officials’ legal literacy, improve oversight of the operation of power, standardize administrative reconsideration and responses to lawsuits, and speed up the building of a rule-of-law government in the cyberspace and information field.
