Jensen Huang: Warnings Are Beneficial, Threats Are Harmful, Most Concerned America Will Miss AI Adoption Opportunity Due to Fear

Gate News Report, March 20 — NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang called for restraint among AI industry leaders during an All-In podcast interview, warning that “warnings are helpful, but intimidation is harmful because this technology is too important to us.” He stated that AI “is not a living organism, not an alien, has no consciousness; it is just computer software,” and that extreme, catastrophic claims without evidence “could cause damage beyond what people imagine.” Huang said that the greatest threat to U.S. AI security is not the technology itself, but that while other countries are embracing AI vigorously, American society is slowing down adoption due to anger, fear, or paranoia. He urged industry leaders to “be more humble, more restrained, and more balanced,” and to recognize that “we cannot fully see the future” when making predictions. These comments were made in response to the Pentagon controversy involving Anthropic, and Huang also praised Anthropic’s safety culture as “very impressive.”
