Tarek Mansour, co-founder and CEO of Kalshi, has spoken out to dismiss criminal charges from the state of Arizona, claiming they are “overreach” and not related to gambling. Previously, Attorney General Kris Mayes accused Kalshi of operating illegal betting activities and providing unlicensed election betting services.
Mansour stated that this move aims to “break the judicial process,” as the lawsuit between Kalshi and the state government has not yet been resolved. He affirmed that the company will pursue the case in court.
Kalshi is currently facing similar lawsuits in other states, amid a tightly regulated prediction market, especially concerning sensitive bets such as military actions. The company argues that only the CFTC has the authority to regulate, not the state government.
