T. Rowe Price, a $1.8 trillion asset management firm known for mutual funds and retirement plans, has amended its registration statement for an actively managed cryptocurrency ETF and filed it with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The updated filing submitted on Monday lists 15 digital assets that could be included in the portfolio, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Avalanche, and Shiba Inu. The amendment maintains the core structure of the fund but adds operational details, including designating Anchorage Digital Bank as the custodian for digital assets and expanding the description of the fund’s creation and redemption mechanisms. The filing also adds Sui to the list of eligible assets.
Additionally, the document updates information about the FTSE Crypto US Listed Index and broadens risk disclosures related to active trading strategies. This proposal indicates a trend of traditional financial institutions entering the cryptocurrency ETF market.
