Saros and Pump.fun explode TVL on Solana, driving DeFi into a new acceleration cycle
The TVL of Saros has skyrocketed by 411% in the past 30 days, indicating a surge in DeFi activity on Solana. Research from the Journal of Financial Technology has previously shown that optimal yield strategies can help TVL increase by up to 300% when market liquidity is high — this suggests that Saros’s innovative yield aggregation model could be a key driving factor.
At the same time, Pump.fun recorded a TVL increase of up to 472%, reflecting the memecoin frenzy that is enveloping the Solana ecosystem. However, the rapid increase has also raised concerns about sustainability, in the context of ecosystems that have a history of “rug-pull”. The updated data on June 6, 2025, shows a clear acceleration trend compared to the 6 billion USD TVL at the beginning of 2024 for Solana.
