Storage is an unavoidable topic in Web3, but honestly, most storage projects right now are difficult to use—in one word: hard. Not technically hard, but hard in terms of user experience. The complexity level is enough to discourage ordinary users from even trying.
Walrus is a project that truly approaches problems from a user perspective. I recently tested it, uploading 100GB of design files, and the entire process was as smooth as using Baidu Cloud—encryption, sharding, and distribution all handled automatically, paying fees with WAL, and transactions confirming in seconds. Compared to Filecoin's complex mining mechanism, Walrus is definitely orders of magnitude lower in barriers for ordinary people.
There are several technical points worth noting. Its architecture based on the Sui blockchain gives it the confidence for high TPS, and combined with its proprietary data repair algorithm, the system's redundancy and recovery capabilities are no joke. Add to that the intelligent pricing mechanism, where storage costs can dynamically adjust with market conditions, which is far more flexible than fixed-pricing solutions. The team's execution is clearly strong, with development updates every week—not one of those half-dead projects.
From a valuation perspective, we're still in the early stages. Comparing with similar projects in the sector, WAL has at least 5-10x growth potential, and I'm not exaggerating. I've already allocated a portion (roughly 10%) to my own portfolio. I think it's necessary to at least understand this direction—don't end up regretting missing another opportunity down the road.
