There are quite a few VC institutions in this industry, but only a handful truly leave a mark in crypto history.

Recently, Dragonfly Capital partner Haseeb Qureshi published a lengthy article, in which he directly made a bold move—publicly naming what he considers the greatest VC institutions in the crypto space.

"Looking successful" and "truly great" are two different things. The core logic of Haseeb's article is this: many VC firms boast loud claims, quick fundraising, and numerous projects, but when it comes to those that have a profound impact on the crypto ecosystem and leave a mark in history, there are actually very few. His criteria for evaluation this time are not solely based on returns or fundraising scale, but on these institutions' contributions and foresight for the entire ecosystem.

This article has sparked quite a bit of discussion in the community—some agree, others want to see his full list. Regardless, this voice from top-tier investment firms somewhat reflects the changing definition of "truly great" in this industry.

Haseeb this time is a bit ruthless, really daring to hit this pain point. Although a large funding scale doesn't necessarily mean true greatness, we have to admit that most VCs are just hyping concepts, chasing hot topics, and making quick money. Want to see the full list+1, who is truly at the "famous for leaving a mark in history" level. Basically, it's a big sieve that has uncovered those institutions that seem glamorous but actually contribute little. However, such evaluations do require time to verify, after all, greatness isn't something that can be definitively judged right now. This guy dares to confront so directly, which shows some taste. Much more sincere than those VCs who blow hot air every day. But what I’m most curious about is how Dragonfly positions itself? Is it on this "greatness" list or among the evaluators?

Ha, it's another round of ranking competition. Is it VC's turn this time?

This guy dares to speak so frankly, so he's got some substance... But if we really talk about "greatness," looking back at those early all-in institutions, they are the ones who truly made the right bet.

Oh wow, now that's real talk. More funding doesn't necessarily mean you're truly awesome. Show me the list; I want to see who truly deserves a place in history. This decisive cut is great; it has exposed all those who only know how to boast.

Haha, finally someone dares to say this. So many so-called successes are fake. Check the list, I bet five dollars that A16Z is definitely on it. Actually, raising money doesn't mean you're great; what you've done is what matters. I want to hear how Haseeb evaluates those institutions that are still hyping now. There are very few VCs who truly look at long-term value.

Ha, Haseeb's move was really ruthless, hitting the nail on the head. Oh right, the few self-proclaimed top players in our group, isn't it time for them to come out and fight now? Foresight sounds good, but isn't it just a post-hoc trick? Really want to see the full list, betting five bucks that someone won't admit defeat. History will speak, but only if we survive the next bear market.
