Funkari team member Neks recently revealed that before the Web3 event NFT Paris announced the cancellation of the 2026 event, they had already collected over 500,000 euros in sponsorship fees from sponsors but refused to issue refunds. Several sponsors exposed email replies claiming, "According to the contract terms, the organizer's expenses have exceeded the total sponsorship amount." It is reported that sponsorship packages ranged from 5,000 euros to 30,000 euros. Based on the 61 sponsors announced, the total sponsorship amount is at least 300,000 euros, and the actual scale may far exceed 500,000 euros. This dispute has sparked industry discussions about the credibility of Web3 event organizers and contract transparency.

The wording of these contract terms sounds ridiculous. Saying 500,000 euros is gone just like that—who the hell would believe that?

This is just outrageous. The event disappeared after taking the money, and no refunds are given. Web3 really has all kinds of monsters and demons.

ngl this is basically a sandwich attack but irl... they frontran the cancellation, grabbed the liquidity, then vanished. classic dark forest behavior just wearing a suit instead of being onchain. 50k+ eur locked up while they claim "contract says so" - yeah that's how every exploiter justifies the extraction.
